Scripture Memory

One thing I am not very good at is memorizing scripture.  When we were little we used to make fun of my mom because she could never remember anything and she said once you have children you will understand.  After my first child I did understand.  And now after four I have no room to make fun of anyone.  With each child I am convinced you lose 25% of your brain power.  Virtually, I have nothing left.  Teaching and helping the kids to memorize has been good for both Josh and I.  You can see that committing to this goal will be a huge challenge for me.

At the start of 2013 Beth Moore is starting her "Siesta 2013 Scripture Memory Team."  Everything is done through her blog so anyone can do it.  Through this you commit to memorizing 24 verses and logging them on her blog.  You enter your verse on the 1st and 15th of each month.  You pick verses that speak to you or that have special meaning and log them.

For January 1 my verse is:

Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.
Ephesians 4:32 ESV

Each verse I pick will be something that I'm struggling with or I feel like I need.  On my blog I will not give a big speech as to why I pick a particular verse because that is between God and I and not everyone out there.
