500 Festival 5k

My first race of the season (or my season) was today.  Since I took January, February, and March off I'm trying to get myself back into shape.  My running over the last month has not been up to a 5k pace so this last week of training I was pushing myself not knowing what would happen.

This was my first time downtown during the mini-marathon/5k festivities.  In case you were wondering they have like 35,000 people between both races plus the spectators who come and watch.  Needless to say it was crazy!

The day started bright and early.  The 5k starts at 7 AM so my alarm went off at 5 AM...yowza!

My running mate Anna.  Nicole didn't do this race today.

These are my split times that I keep on my Nike app when I run.

After this race you get a medal, which is kinda cool!

According to the official results I finished in 32:14, which is 10:23/mile.  Personally, I'm happy with this time because I don't really feel I'm back to my pace of last year.
